Where to find hot (non gay) guys in San Francisco – Part 2

26 Aug

Where can a single gal in San Francisco find hot men these days?

After some vacation in Los Angeles with my girlfriends, I came back with one single obsession – guess what it was (no, it wasn’t to become a movie star or perfect my tan, although that was on my mind too) but to find the equivalent of LA men in San Francisco. And I’m talking strictly in a superficial, physical kind of way. I mean, come on, who doesn’t like to marvel at a perfect body or a dreamy figure? It made me understand why men sometimes stare at women with this hungry look on their faces. Why couldn’t we do the same? And in LA, boy were we spoiled. Appearance being sort of a religion there, every walking person was like eye-candy.
So if you’re not looking for “the one”, and just want to enjoy pretty things, follow me.

Here’s the first part of my list of SF places filled with hot men. Remember, in Part 1, I mentioned cafes and restaurants? Well, as I’m writing this post, I’m sitting in a cafe where the waiter is to die for, and the customers are making my work session a lot more enjoyable as well.

1. The Creamery, SOMA

Everytime I go there, I am dazzled by the amount of good-looking fellows who are just hanging out or having lunch. I swear, one time, one guy was actually tanning shirtless. I don’t know if it’s the concentration of new startups in the area, or just that it’s a “work” zone, but the Creamery (which actually also serves very good food) is one of the top places to go men-watching (or hunting). Beware though that most of them seem to be the younger, ambitious workaholic type.

2. Precita Park Cafe, Bernal Heights

Very laid-back, communal atmosphere with families, but  also a fair amount of  handsome dudes in their mid-20s to a lot older. I only went there on a weekend, but the crowd doesn’t seem too hipster yet, and a few groups of good-looking guys were coming in regularly. More the intellectual/artist type, but again, not too hipster.

3. Grove Cafe, the Marina

Went there on a late weeknight with my best friend, and as I wrote in Part 1, the waiter was like the hottest Spanish guy we’d ever seen – we thought he was gay, but surprise! He told my best friend she was really beautiful and flirted with her. However we haven’t seen him again since, so he might not work there anymore. Anyway, the crowd is the Marina type (no comment) but of course HOT men hang in the area, and the ones coming to this place didn’t seem douchey at all.

4.  NightLife at the Academy of Sciences

Not really a cafe, but… OMG. It was my first time going to this event, I had just got back from my LA trip, and my eyes practically popped out of my head. THAT’S WHERE THEY HAD ALL BEEN HIDING!! Damn, if only I had known earlier. Although beware that a lot of the men there are actually on dates, or already with a group of girls – however you can easily spot the groups of good-looking guys who come here just to hunt or do the same as you – enjoy the view. (By the way, the nightlife events actually rock, it’s a lot of fun whatever your reason for going).

Alright, that’s it for now, I will post about more places soon. Now don’t forget all this is for fun, and don’t you dare feeling guilty – you enjoy looking at hot men, and there’s nothing wrong with that!!
